The Howard County Police are currently at the location of a shooting in the vicinity of the Mall in Columbia.
According to Howard County Police Chief Gregory Der, two teenagers were shot in the vicinity of the Lidl and the bus stop outside the Mall in Columbia at approximately 5:52 pm on Saturday.
The two victims have been identified as male teenagers.
One person was declared deceased at the location, while the second individual was transported to Shock Trauma in critical condition.
Authorities have confirmed that this incident was not an active shooting.
Police said they haven’t identified the shooter, but they believe the culprit knows the victims and is still at large.
At this moment, authorities believe there was only one shooter, but they believe the shooting was targeted.
There was no more information provided about the shooter, and investigators are actively investigating a motive.
Police are currently asking for anyone with information on the shooting.
