A young girl from Texas went missing for more than 24 hours after leaving her home to attend a birthday party. Fortunately, she has been located, but she was found in a different state, accompanied by a male juvenile.
The Irving Police Department shared a missing person flyer and an accompanying statement on Monday, seeking help in locating 12-year-old Alison Ramirez-Lopez. Alison had left her home at 10 am on February 9 to attend a birthday party. The post was uploaded to social media the following morning.
Alison, who was last seen on the 1000 block of Harlan Street, was supposed to attend a birthday party but failed to show up. Concerned about her whereabouts, the police were contacted at 11 pm.
According to the police, they have reason to believe that Alison could be in Alabama or one of the surrounding states. The authorities have reached out to the public, urging them to assist in the investigation.
The authorities were unable to issue an Amber or Athena Alert for Alison because they believed she was in a different state. However, they made efforts to spread the word to other states in order to raise awareness about her disappearance.
Their investigation led them to believe that she was located far away, although the exact reason behind this conclusion remains unknown. As it turned out, their intuition was correct, as Alison was eventually discovered in Alabama.
Girl Went Missing In Texas And Ended Up In Alabama
Alison was discovered two states away.
Police updated their post, to say, “Thanks to joint efforts, Alison has been located, and is in the process of reuniting her with her family.”
“Alison was located in Alabama, and we want to thank the Madison Police Department for their full cooperation in this investigation,” they wrote.
It is unclear how she ended up there and the purpose of her presence remains a mystery.
Disturbingly, she wasn’t alone when she was found. “At the time of discovery, Alison was accompanied by a juvenile male,” the department updated. “The investigation is still ongoing to determine whether charges are warranted.”
It is unclear whether Alison was forcibly taken to Alabama or if she voluntarily traveled there for her own reasons. Given Alison’s age, it is unlikely that further information will be disclosed unless charges are filed against the unidentified individual.
