A 14-year-old student has been taken into custody and is facing charges of rape in Warren County. The incident occurred at Warren Central High School on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace recently spoke to the Vicksburg Daily News, revealing that his office received a call from campus police on Thursday.
“Wednesday afternoon, WCSO investigators were contacted by Chief LaToria Kerr, who reported that a sexual assault occurred on the campus of Warren Central High School,” Pace said. “This occurred in an unoccupied classroom.”
Investigators from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, and campus police have reviewed security footage from the building and successfully identified the suspect. The suspect, who is only 14 years old, has now been charged with rape as an adult.
According to Pace, a 14-year-old in Mississippi is automatically tried in adult Circuit Court for this offense.
The suspect stood before Circuit Judge Marcie Southerland on Thursday, where she denied him bond. As a result, he is currently being held in the Warren County Jail.
