Law enforcement officials recently carried out a search warrant at a residence in Jackson, resulting in the arrest of two suspects. The operation led to the discovery of substantial quantities of drugs, a significant amount of cash, and unlawfully altered firearms. The suspects now face several felony charges in connection with these illegal activities.
On Tuesday, February 18, the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Narcotics Division, with the help of the Hinds County Street Crimes Unit and the Jackson Police Department (JPD) Narcotics, conducted a search of a residence in the 1500 block of Winchester Street. The authorities had received multiple complaints about drug distribution and the illegal alteration of firearms occurring at this location.
Ernest Burnside and Channing Thomas were apprehended by investigators during the operation. A substantial amount of evidence was also seized, which included:

- $2,478 in cash
- 10.6 pounds of marijuana
- Glock 22 firearm with an illegal switch (modifying it into a fully automatic weapon)
- 101 bottles of promethazine
- 51.5 grams of THC

- Felon in possession of a firearm
