Two inmates who escaped from the Orleans Justice Center earlier this month were apprehended in Texas and returned to Louisiana on Friday, authorities confirmed.
Leo Tate and Jermaine Donald were apprehended on May 26, ten days after they broke out of the New Orleans facility. According to Louisiana State Police, both men were flown back to the state with the assistance of LSP Air Support and SWAT and are currently being held in a secure correctional facility.
Two fugitives remain at large. Authorities are offering a total reward of $50,000 per escapee for information that leads to their arrest. Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans and the FBI have each pledged $20,000, with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives contributing an additional $10,000.
