A suspect has been arrested following a double homicide investigation in Rockville, Maryland. Early Tuesday morning, authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of a man and a woman in two different locations within the city.
Montgomery County death investigation underway
Around 3:16 a.m., a white BMW caught the attention of a Montgomery County police officer on routine patrol. The car was observed to be stopped in the middle of the intersection at Shady Grove Road and Research Boulevard.
Officers found a dead man inside the car and discovered bullet wounds on the vehicle’s bodywork.
At around 7:40 a.m., the Rockville City police were called to 2 Research Court following a report of a deceased individual in a parking lot. Responding officers discovered a woman with visible gunshot injuries, and nearby, they found shell casings.
Detectives established a connection between the two deaths and identified the suspect as 25-year-old Kaloyan Dimov Stoev. Stoev, whose current address is unknown, was apprehended in Rockville at around noon, according to the police.
The victims’ bodies have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.
The police are currently investigating the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding it. They are actively searching for witnesses or any available video footage that could provide more information about the incident.
The authorities have not disclosed any additional details regarding the suspect or the victims as of now.
