In Maryland, authorities have apprehended two individuals who are now facing charges related to eight separate commercial burglaries.
James Elton Guess III, aged 34 and a resident of Bowie, along with Jawaun Malik Martini, aged 30 and hailing from Woodbridge, Virginia, have been apprehended and charged with multiple counts of burglary in relation to the incidents.
On February 15th, three separate police departments joined forces to carry out a search and seizure warrant at a residence located in the 12000 block of Madeley Lane in Bowie.
According to officers, the search was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation into a string of convenience store burglaries in Maryland. The investigation specifically focuses on the following locations:

- Sunoco at 2201 Defense Highway on Sept. 22, 2024 at 3:00 a.m.
- Shell at 1229 Generals Highway on Dec. 2, 2024 at 2:00 a.m.
- Shell at 537 Benfield Road on Dec. 24, 2024 at 1:18 a.m.
- Shell at 601 Ritchie Highway on Jan. 2, 2025 at 2:00 a.m.
- Exxon at 1335 Generals Highway on Jan. 25, 2025 at 1:40 a.m.
- Shell at 1229 Generals Highway on Feb. 1, 2025 at 1:30 a.m.
- Exxon at 1335 Generals Highway on Feb. 9, 2025 at 3:30 a.m.
- Sunoco at 2201 Defense Highway on Feb. 9, 2025 at 4:00 a.m.
During the search in Bowie, the police discovered several items that were connected to the case. These included stolen lottery scratch-off tickets, articles of clothing, and an unregistered loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun.
They took the duo to the Anne Arundel County Central Holding and Processing Center.
After a thorough five-month investigation, the police have announced the arrest of the suspects.
