Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a tragic shooting that left one man dead and another injured inside a southeast Houston home earlier this year.
According to Houston police, Jordan T. Smith, 32, is accused of capital murder, while Desmore Letre Modlist, 27, faces charges of capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The incident occurred around 11:25 p.m. on February 26 at a residence in the 10300 block of Dulcimer Street. Officers arrived and discovered two roommates with gunshot wounds.
Craig Johnson, 37, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The second victim, aged 32, was brought to the hospital.
Investigators said the suspects approached one of the victims in the driveway with a revolver and forced their way inside. After entering, they opened fire before fleeing in a dark SUV.
Smith was caught on April 17, and Modlist was apprehended on May 27 following months of investigations.
