Prosecutors have charged two men in connection with the deadly shooting at a Kansas City (State of Missouri) gas station.
K’Vontaye Redmond and Lamont Buchanan are both charged with:
- Second-degree murder
- Armed criminal action
On May 10, police responded to a petrol station located at East 63rd Street and Blue Parkway Drive. They discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man died of his injuries in a hospital.
Detectives examined footage from the area. Court papers state that Buchanan grabbed the victim and pointed a gun at him as he went out of the petrol station.
The victim attempted to back up and draw his gun but dropped it, according to the prosecutor’s office.
According to the probable cause statement, Redmond also aimed a gun at the victim while he lay on the ground. Buchanan picked up the victim’s gun, and both suspects fled the gas station.
Both males are in custody.
Buchanan is jailed without bond, while Redmond is held on a $100,000 bond.
