The Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office has arrested two people, Amber Gardner, 41, and Steven Lambert, 45, both of New Caney, following an investigation into fraud and narcotics charges.
The inquiry started on April 17, 2025, when the Precinct 4 Criminal Investigations Division received an anonymous tip. Deputies used the Patrol Division’s help to identify Gardner and Lambert in a vehicle and perform a traffic stop near State Loop 494.
During the traffic stop, deputies allegedly uncovered a huge amount of sensitive personal information, such as hundreds of stolen credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and counterfeit checks. Gardner also reportedly admitted to carrying illegal substances, specifically psilocybin (mushrooms) and oxycodone.
Amber Gardner was arrested and charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, as well as a second-degree felony for fraudulent use or possession of identifying information. Police arrested Steven Lambert and charged him with a second-degree felony for fraudulent use or possession of identifying information.
Both individuals were booked into the Montgomery County Jail and are still in custody.
Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden thanked the citizen who gave the first information, and the deputies engaged in the arrests. He stressed the gravity of such crimes and the significance of these arrests in ensuring the community’s personal and financial security.
