Two individuals faced charges for illegally reentering the United States following their previous deportation.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) reported that a grand jury had indicted two men from Mexico and El Salvador for illegally returning to the country.
Fernando Herrera-Cruz, a Mexican, had been deported on March 30, 2022, but was discovered in Camden County on March 18, 2025.
Authorities discovered that he had illegally reentered the country when they caught him driving without a valid driver’s license after a car accident.
The second man, Guadalupe De Jesus Aldana Sandoval, also known as “Edgar Navarro Menendez,” from El Salvador, was previously deported on November 13, 2009.
On March 25, 2025, Sandoval was discovered in Pettis County, Missouri.
The DOJ highlighted that neither of the guys had legally applied for authorization to reenter the United States.
According to a news release, ICE Homeland Security looked into these events.
