A shooting on Benning Road claimed the life of one woman, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The Sixth District summoned officers to the 2000 block of Benning Road, Northeast, at 12:51 a.m. on Saturday. Police said they discovered an adult lady with gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and EMS transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where they declared her deceased.
The woman has since been identified as Daquane Johnson, 28, of Northeast, D.C.
