Three people from Pennsylvania were apprehended on Sunday for attempting to use counterfeit money at a Walmart in Waterford, Connecticut.
The Waterford Police Department responded to a call regarding fraudulent returns at the North Waterford Walmart around 1:34 p.m.
The individuals responsible for the crime have been identified as Levingston Fernandez-Jimenez, Cindy Jimenez, and Bethy De Los Santos-Colon, all of whom are 25 years old.
According to the police, a group of individuals attempted to return vacuums that were bought using counterfeit money at the Putnam Wal-Mart.
After conducting a comprehensive investigation, the suspects were found to have $5,400 worth of counterfeit money, along with $556 in U.S. currency and five vacuums.
The officers took possession of all the items as evidence.
During their investigation, the police discovered that Fernandez-Jimenez had an extraditable warrant from Pennsylvania.
Fernandez-Jimenez, a resident of Pennsylvania, faced charges for the following offenses:

- Conspiracy to commit forgery 1st degree
- Larceny 5th degree
- Fugitive from justice
The person was detained on a cash bond of $70,000 and appeared in New London Superior Court for arraignment on February 10th.
Jimenez and De Los Santos-Colon, who are both from Pennsylvania, face charges for the following offenses:

On February 10, they were arraigned at New London Superior Court and held on a cash bond of $20,000.
