Three men in Virginia were recently sentenced for distributing significant quantities of fentanyl within the state.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) of the Eastern District of Virginia on Friday, three individuals have been charged with conspiring to distribute fentanyl pills. The individuals involved are 21-year-old Xavier Elijah Coltrane from Arlington, 34-year-old Vaughn Meachem from Alexandria, and 24-year-old Cameron Harris from Gainesville.
During the operation, the FBI made five separate purchases from the three men, resulting in the sale of approximately 65,000 fentanyl pills and one kilogram of cocaine.
According to the USAO, Coltrane facilitated the sales through various platforms including Instagram, Telegram, and phone calls. Additionally, he utilized his co-owned car service, Exquisite Luxury Transportation, to engage in drug trafficking activities. In some instances, buyers would need to make a reservation through his service and would then be transported to a designated delivery location, where Meachem would distribute the pills.
On another occasion, Harris personally delivered the pills to the buyer in his own vehicle. This was done because Coltrane was concerned that the use of cars from Exquisite Luxury Transportation might be drawing unwanted attention from law enforcement.
The three individuals admitted their guilt in conspiring to distribute over 400 grams of fentanyl and in distributing over 400 grams of fentanyl.
Coltrane, Harris, and Meachem received prison sentences of 20 years, 13 years, and 10 years, respectively.
