A former Texas teacher was arrested and charged with multiple charges after allegedly engaging in an inappropriate connection with a middle school pupil, including sexual contact.
Kara Hernandez, 31, resigned from her employment as a teacher at Ronald Thornton Middle School in September 2024 after a former student informed the administration of her suspected inappropriate contact with a child, according to Fox 26 Houston.
Hernandez was arrested on February 14 and charged with an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a student, as well as indecency with a kid, which included sexual contact.
The Houston-area school employed Hernandez on or around April 1, 2022, when the alleged relationship occurred.
According to court documents obtained by Click 2 Houston, Hernandez is charged in a grand jury indictment with intentionally having intercourse with a student enrolled at the college.
Hernandez was an orchestra instructor, according to a Facebook post about his arrest posted by people who claim to have children in the area. The Post was unable to independently verify these claims.
According to the Fort Bend Independent School District, she resigned from her position in September 2024 as they investigated the allegations.
