A 38-year-old New Jersey man was fatally shot on a residential street in Brooklyn early Thursday, according to authorities.
Brandon Sylvester, the victim, is from Englewood. It was not immediately clear why he was in Brooklyn.
Around 1:15 a.m., a fight on Beverly Road near E. 58th St. resulted in a shot to his chest.
According to police, Sylvester was shot while inside the gate outside the home.
Medical personnel transported him to Kings County Hospital, but he could not be rescued.
