Four men in Arizona were recently arrested after stealing cargo from semi-truck trailers. They could be involved in a far broader theft ring. A gold semi-truck and unusual sneakers made them stand out to police officers.
4 Arizona men arrested for semi-truck cargo theft
Police officers spotted a gold semi-truck they recognized from a previous theft. parked in the Truck Park on Broadway Road near 32nd Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona.
They watched the gold truck, red semi-truck, and Land Rover leave the truck yard. Employees stated that they did not have any scheduled deliveries; therefore, the action appeared suspicious.
Officers stopped the gold truck on Interstate 10 and discovered a bogus license plate inside. The red pickup was stopped at the Circle K gas station on 35th Avenue, carrying a crowbar inside. The Land Rover then had the driver’s ID from the red semi.
The gold truck had $50,000 worth of stolen Red Bull. The red tractor-trailer also hauled $50,000 worth of Rockstar energy drinks.
Previously, surveillance footage showed the men wearing the same distinctive shoes as they stole trailers laden with $3 million worth of televisions.
According to CDL Life, the males deny any involvement in the thefts. They all spoke Hindi and required an interpreter to effectively interact with investigators.
There is currently an investigation into the occurrence. The males were arrested on one count of third-degree burglary. More charges may be filed based on the findings of the investigation. The investigation may link them to a much wider criminal network.
