Four young people were arrested in Central Florida for two murders, while others were arrested for charges related to the investigation.

Homicide detectives from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office detained six people in connection with the double homicide that happened in Lakeland’s Secret Cove neighborhood earlier this month.

Four of those arrested were charged with two charges of felony murder and other felonies, while the remaining two suspects were charged with a variety of crimes related to the case.

According to local law enforcement, the suspects include:

  • 17-year-old Alexander Zarion Colon-Martinez, of Lakeland Charged with: 1st Degree Murder (2 counts), Attempted Armed Robbery, and Tampering with Evidence
  • 15-year-old David Yule, Jr., of Lakeland Charged with: 1st Degree Murder (2 counts), Attempted Armed Robbery Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by a Juvenile, and Violation of Probation
  • 18-year-old Anthony Scott Roush, of Lakeland Charged with: 1st Degree Murder (2 counts), Attempted Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, Contributing to Delinquency of a Juvenile (2 counts), and Violation of Probation
  • 23-year-old Kristian Xavier Guzman, of Lakeland Charged with: 1st Degree Murder (2 counts), Attempted Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, Negligent Child Abuse (2 counts), Contributing to Delinquency of a Juvenile (2 counts), and Violation of Probation
  • 19-year-old Jessica M. Chambers, of Lakeland Charged with: Accessory After the Fact to a Capitol Felony, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, False Information to Law Enforcement in a Felony Investigation, and Contributing to Delinquency of a Juvenile (4 counts)
  • 21-year-old Isabella Brooke Farley, of Lakeland Charged with: Accessory After the Fact to a Capitol Felony, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery, Negligent Child Abuse (2 counts), False Information to Law Enforcement in a Felony Investigation, and Contributing to Delinquency of a Juvenile (2 counts)

On Monday, May 12th, at approximately 1:26pm, 19-year-old Davin Boutwell drove a white Mercedes to the Secret Cove community in Lakeland to conduct a cocaine deal, according to law officials. Alex met Boutwell at his car, where Ned Engle Blvd meets Pirates Way, while David and Anthony stood nearby while their co-conspirator Kristian remained in the getaway vehicle.

Boutwell sustained a gunshot wound to his chest during the brief meeting. The Mercedes accelerated down the road, colliding with 38-year-old Nathaniel Jones, Jr. on his electric bike and then crashing into a home on Pirates Way. Boutwell and Jones were dead when first responders arrived.

“As usual, my detectives hit the ground running speaking to witnesses, collecting evidence, using their available resources and their excellent skills,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. “What happened on Pirates Way was unusual and tragic. The six suspects we now have locked-up will be held accountable for their role in these murders. This is just another reminder that drugs, guns, and youth is deadly cocktail.”

PCSO police discovered that Kristian, David, Alex, and Anthony organized the robbery of Boutwell. Jessica and Isabella rode in the silver Nissan Altima that was to serve as a getaway vehicle. Kristian’s two small children were also present in the Nissan.

Alex concealed a shotgun seized during the robbery (but not used) behind a dumpster at a local convenience store. The shotgun was retrieved, but the firearm used to murder Boutwell had not yet been found.
