6 More Texas Massage Parlors Shut Down in Human Trafficking Crackdown

Here we go again. Another wave of massage parlors in Texas has been closed after the state uncovered more shady operations tied to human trafficking.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) has issued emergency six-month closure orders for six more massage parlors that reportedly provided more than simply deep tissue relief.

What Investigators Found In Texas

According to the TDLR, the newly closed parlors raised more red lights than a disastrous Tinder match. Investigators claim there was credible evidence of human trafficking, unlicensed staff, no client consultation documents, and sexual paraphernalia and costumes. Some personnel reportedly lived on-site.

Texas Cracks Down On Massage Parlors

This is part of a much bigger crackdown. Since late last year, the TDLR has issued 49 emergency orders, targeted 68 massage-related firms, and canceled 51 licenses relating to human trafficking investigations. Texas is obviously trying to clean house. That is a nice thing.
