6 People Sentenced To Prison In East Alabama Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

A drug trafficking conspiracy’s final defendant received a ten-year prison sentence.

Demarcus Sharon Brown, 39, of Anniston, was sentenced by a district court judge to ten years in prison.

Brown pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine.

Court filings show that from the fall of 2022 until the summer of 2023, six people conspired to distribute more than 1,000 grams of methamphetamine in east Alabama.

Others previously sentenced in the conspiracy include:

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) investigated the case, assisted by the Anniston Police Department, Oxford Police Department, 7th Judicial Major Crimes Unit, and West Alabama Narcotics Task Force.
