Spanish authorities announced on Monday that they have discovered and confiscated a staggering seven tons of cocaine. The illegal drugs were cleverly hidden in sea freight containers, buried beneath the surface of a farm. In a dramatic video released by the police, officers can be seen diligently excavating the ground and unearthing numerous packages believed to contain the illicit substances. This operation has also resulted in the arrest of three individuals suspected of being involved in the smuggling operation.
The Civil Guard police initiated their operation on Friday after noticing two suspicious speedboats near the mouth of the Guadalquivir River.
The suspects stored the drugs in two containers hidden underground at a rural estate in the municipality of Coria del Rio, south of the city of Seville, where the boats were tracked.
The Civil Guard recently made a significant discovery, claiming that they have confiscated the largest-ever quantity of cocaine smuggled into southern Spain via speedboat. In a video shared on social media, the officers can be seen unearthing the alleged drugs.
According to authorities, three weapons, including an AK-47 assault rifle, and two stolen vehicles were seized by them.
