Another collision occurred on I-10 after a previous crash had already caused traffic to slow down. Tragically, a man lost his life when his car collided with an 18-wheeler. Louisiana State Police reported that the semi-truck had come to a stop in the right lane of I-10 heading west, as traffic was halted due to the earlier crash. Unfortunately, the driver behind the semi-truck failed to stop and crashed into the back of the large vehicle.

Late Saturday night on I-10 between Jennings and Egan, the westbound lanes of traffic came to a halt. A tractor-trailer had overturned, blocking both lanes. The situation took a turn for the worse when, just after midnight on Sunday, February 9, a sedan collided with the rear of the 18-wheeler. According to Louisiana State Police Trooper First Class Matt Gaspard from the Public Affairs Section of State Police, this led to the closure of the westbound lanes.
