Arizona candidate accused of misrepresenting his military service

The Navajo County Republican Committee is urging a candidate to withdraw from the state office race in Arizona.

Steve Slaton has announced his candidacy for the Legislative District 7 seat in Arizona’s House of Representatives.

A veteran group has accused him of misrepresenting his military record by claiming to be a Cobra helicopter pilot. However, according to the group, he was actually a mechanic.

According to Slaton, he served as a combat veteran.

In a recent event, he grabbed headlines for organizing a gathering in support of U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake at his Trump-themed store located in Show Low. It is worth noting that the store had a confederate flag hanging on the wall.

In response to the demand for him to withdraw from the race, Slaton issued a statement that emphasized his status as a Vietnam combat veteran, stating that no smear campaign by the left would ever be able to deny this fact. He accused the people behind the demand of doing to him what the liberals did to Vietnam Veterans decades ago by spitting on and mocking them upon their return. Slaton identified these individuals as the same people who opposed other patriots such as Kari Lake, President Trump, Eli Crane, and Wendy Rogers. He further described them as establishment Chamber of Commerce RINO hacks who support Democrats more than Republicans. According to him, they were a group of ten losers with no real power to do anything, who consistently get everything wrong and are as irrelevant as the paper their phony letter is printed on.

On its website, the Navajo County Republican Committee affirms that its primary objective is to assist the Arizona Republican Party and the Republican National Committee in achieving their goals. The committee firmly stands by the principles of the Republican Party Platform and the Constitution. Moreover, it extends its support to the party’s candidates who uphold these beliefs and strives to enhance the political education of Republicans in Arizona.
