The June 20 drawing produced three “Match 5” winners across the country, in New Jersey, Georgia, and Washington, according to the Mega Millions website.
This is the first time three second-tier Mega Millions winners have been chosen in a single night since the rule modifications in April. Instead of the previous flat $1 million prize, each winning ticket now has its own randomly allocated multiplier, which can increase the payout far higher.
A lucky New Jersey player won the largest Match 5 prize of the night, $4 million, beating players from Georgia and Washington, who won $2 million and $3 million, respectively. Officials have yet to announce where in New Jersey the winning ticket was purchased.
Friday’s winning numbers were 26, 49, 58, 61, and 63, with a Mega Ball of 9.
