The former executive director of a nonprofit that helps homeless individuals in Marion County was arrested on Friday for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the organization.
According to Ocala police, Dennis Grundy, 40, defrauded the nonprofit Open Arms Village of $264,000 since 2023.
According to a Facebook post, Grundy changed financial records and misappropriated monies through unauthorized checks, fraudulent credit cards, and PayPal transactions.
Open Arms Village is a nonprofit organization that provides temporary shelter and services to homeless people in Marion County.
Grundy faces charges of grand theft and organized fraud.
