According to the Dallas police, a mounted police officer was on patrol in Big Tex Circle when the horse suddenly got scared and threw off the officer. The teenager involved in the incident’s mother reveals that after the horse knocked him to the ground and caused him to lose consciousness, her son had a seizure for the first time in his life.

The family claims that 17-year-old Ian Macharia was knocked down, lost consciousness, and experienced a seizure.

According to the lawsuit, the horse became frightened when the officer accidentally spilled a drink on it.

According to the lawsuit, the officer was accused of being negligent in his handling of the saddle, tack, and controls of the horse.

According to the lawsuit, the presence of mounted officers at the Fair was deemed “unreasonably dangerous.”

The lawsuit includes the City of Dallas, the State Fair of Texas, and Fair Park management groups Fair Park First and Oak View Group as defendants.

The family is demanding compensation exceeding one million dollars to cover medical expenses and compensate for the physical and emotional distress they have endured.

The police officer sustained injuries in the incident as well.

“We are unable to provide any comments at this time due to ongoing legal proceedings,” stated a spokesperson from the City of Dallas in response to FOX 4’s inquiry.
