In the early morning of November 4, 2024, a resident of the Huntington Woods apartments in Friendswood contacted the police to report the theft of his truck. Surprisingly, the keys were left inside the vehicle. Responding promptly, officers located the stolen truck at the intersection of N. Texas Avenue and W. Medical Center Blvd. in Webster at 8:33 a.m.

They immediately initiated a traffic stop, but the driver chose to evade the authorities, initiating a dangerous high-speed pursuit. The pursuit eventually came to an end when the stolen truck crashed off-road in the 3100 block of Nasa Rd 1.

The officers quickly apprehended the driver, a 16-year-old male, and his passenger, Olivia Rocha, 17, both of Bacliff. The juvenile driver has been charged with unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading in a Motor Vehicle, while Rocha is facing charges of Evading on Foot.

The truck has been found and returned to its owner.

The Friendswood Police Department expressed gratitude to the Webster Police, Harris County Pct. 8, League City Police, and Seabrook Police for their invaluable assistance in the incident.
