A 22-year-old man was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Lycoming County on Wednesday morning.

According to PSP Montoursville, Jake William Wallace was going south on Route 87 in Plunketts Creek Township when he lost control of his car for unexplained reasons.

Wallace’s 2008 BMW 535xi left the road in the 9400 block, collided with a tree, and came to a stop in the center of the road.

Trooper Kyle reported that EMS personnel pronounced Wallace dead on the scene due to his injuries. Trooper Kyle notified Wallace’s next of kin.

UPMC Williamsport brought Alexia Locricchio, 23, for treatment of her injuries. Geisinger Medical Center in Danville later received her transfer, according to police.

Emergency crews closed Route 87 for several hours this morning to clean the site. Emergency crews diverted traffic via Wallis Run Road and Lower Barbours Road.
