Carroll County authorities have identified the man found dead and wrapped in a tarp last week as 30-year-old Douglas Hubler.
“He was born in Pennsylvania and may have been residing in New York state,” Sheriff Calvin Graham said in a press statement Tuesday.
He stated that Hubler’s family has not contacted him, with the most recent communication coming from his mother some months ago.
According to Graham, Hubler’s family learned of his death on Tuesday.
Coroner Dr. Mandal Haas stated on Monday that the person suffered a gunshot wound to the head that was thought to have been caused by someone else.
According to Graham, authorities are looking into the matter.
Anyone with information regarding Hubler is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 330-627-2141 or leave anonymous reports on the department’s website, https://www.carrollcountysheriff.org/.
Hubler’s body was discovered by road workers along Cashmere Road in Carroll County’s Perry Township on Friday morning.
