A vehicle tragically rolled over along a remote highway in Johnson County, Missouri, resulting in a fatal outcome. The car came to a halt after colliding with a tree during the aftermath of a winter storm that occurred overnight.
Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle collision in the area of Highway E and NE 1221 Rd., north of Whiteman Air Force Base, on Wednesday, March 5, just after 8:30 a.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
When the first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered that a 47-year-old woman from Knob Noster was operating a 2016 Jeep Wrangler, heading west on the highway. However, she crossed the centerline, causing the Jeep to swerve off the road and roll over multiple times. The vehicle finally came to a halt after colliding with a tree.
The driver, who had her seatbelt on, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to State Troopers.
The crash resulted in the total destruction of the Jeep, as stated by investigators. At present, no additional details have been disclosed.
