According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, a security guard employed at an Alabama prison is now facing multiple charges. This comes after an Alabama Department of Corrections K-9 officer uncovered an attempt to smuggle contraband into the facility.
Arianna Slater, a correctional security guard, is facing charges of promoting prison contraband, possession of marijuana, and drug trafficking.
Authorities reported that during a routine drug screening at Ventress Correctional Facility in Barbour County, employees discovered contraband in a food container that belonged to Slater.
The confiscated items consisted of:

- 13 grams of marijuana
- 46 grams of fentanyl
- Cell phones, charging blocks and USB cords
After questioning Slater, authorities proceeded to search her vehicle. It remains undisclosed whether any evidence was found during the investigation.
After her arrest, Slater was taken to the Barbour County Jail and is currently awaiting a court hearing.
ADOC’s Law Enforcement Services Division (LESD) is currently conducting an investigation, and there is a possibility of additional charges being filed.
