Authorities in northwest Alabama are currently conducting a search for a 1-year-old child who may have gone missing three months ago.

The child has been identified as Kahleb Collins by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

The sheriff’s office made an announcement about the child’s disappearance on the afternoon of Monday, December 16th.

On December 8, a tragic accident occurred on County Road 73 in Fayette County, revealing the shocking news of the child’s disappearance.

The accident claimed the lives of the child’s father, Steven Collins, aged 40, and sibling Ryleigh Collins, aged 2, while leaving the child’s mother, Wendy Bailey, injured.

Law enforcement was unable to locate Kahleb Collins, the couple’s other child.

According to investigators, it is believed that the child went missing in September, but no one reported the child as missing.

John Bailey, the child’s grandfather, was arrested by law enforcement on Tuesday, Dec. 17. He is accused of failing to report the child’s disappearance, as reported by ABC 33/40 in Birmingham.
