According to CPD, the youngster was discovered unconscious around midnight Tuesday in the 4700 block of South Damen. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital. Area One detectives are looking into the facts surrounding the occurrence and initiating a death investigation. There are no other details available at this time.
However, dispatch records indicate that Stroger Hospital staff called police to the facility around 7:20 p.m. on Monday, and investigators were granted permission to search an apartment in the 4700 block of South Damen later that evening.
The medical examiner’s office recognized the kid as “Baby Flores” but did not specify the baby’s gender or age. The time of death was 10:45 p.m. It was unclear whether the youngster had been born prematurely.
