In Baytown, Texas, a deadly altercation on Thursday has led to murder charges being filed against one individual.
Baytown shooting: Man facing murder charges
The shooting took place around midnight on January 23rd after the police received a report of shots being fired at a bar located in the 4900 block of Main Street, according to Baytown police.
Upon their arrival, the officers discovered a 41-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound.
Life-saving aid was immediately provided until Baytown Fire and EMS took over CPR efforts, according to officials.
The man passed away after being taken to Houston Methodist-Baytown Hospital.
During the initial investigation, it was determined that the victim, who is 41 years old, got into a physical altercation with a man and a woman before the shooting occurred.
Officers eventually found the suspect’s vehicle at an apartment complex on Garth Road in the 1600 block.
Officials established a perimeter and took both individuals into custody without any incident happening.
The authorities have charged the male suspect, identified as 32-year-old Njoroge Kuria, with murder.
The authorities took the female suspect into custody for questioning, but she was eventually released.
The investigation into the case is still ongoing.
The events leading up to the physical altercation that resulted in the shooting of the 41-year-old man remain unclear.
