Border Patrol Agents Anticipate Support from Incoming Administration on January 20th

Border Patrol agents are likely the most thrilled federal employees upon hearing the news of President Donald Trump’s re-election earlier this month. During the four years that Joe Biden was in charge, morale had significantly declined among their ranks, as approximately 11 million migrants entered the porous US Border illegally.

However, come January 20th, their instructions will be altered. This brings a sense of relief and anticipation for many Border Patrol agents, as expressed by Paul Perez, the president of the National Border Patrol Council, during his appearance on the WOR Morning Show.

During an interview with Larry Mendte, Perez expressed his surprise at the number of Border Patrol agents who are reconsidering early retirement. According to Perez, he personally knows many agents who have requested to come out of retirement, as well as others who had planned to retire if Kamala Harris had won the election.

These agents were concerned about working under an administration that may not allow them to carry out their duties as they had sworn to do. Perez believes that the Border Patrol now has a new outlook, thanks to the expected support from President Trump and his administration. He also praised Tom Homan, who has over 30 years of experience in the field, for his expertise and hands-on approach in leading the agency.

According to Perez, the support that Trump has provided to the Border Patrol since his re-election is a complete turnaround from what Joe Biden has demonstrated. Perez points out that immediately after taking office, President Biden dismantled the policies and efforts implemented by Donald Trump to secure the border.

Furthermore, Perez highlights that the Biden administration has yet to apologize for the false claims they made about the agents on horseback allegedly whipping Haitian migrants. Perez describes this as a series of disappointments and a significant decline in the treatment of the Border Patrol. He emphasizes that they are still waiting for an apology from the current administration.
