In UVALDE, Texas, a convicted criminal was captured after an intense 18-hour chase by U.S. Border Patrol agents and the Texas Department of Public Safety near Uvalde. The press release from the U.S. Border Patrol Del Rio Sector revealed that this individual was one of five who illegally crossed the border.
The Uvalde Station first detected the group and successfully apprehended four of them with the help of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The agency reported that the fifth subject, who tried to avoid being caught by hiding in dirt and debris, was eventually found by agents and a DPS K9 tracking unit after a long search through dense brush. According to the agency, the person is now being prosecuted for illegal reentry.
