A Canton woman was arrested after allegedly telling a mother that she hopes her 11-year-old daughter dies this Friday.

According to a Canton Police Department (CPD) report, officers responded to the 1600 block of Clark Avenue SW on Friday for an assault.

Destany Scott, 20, was held on the scene after an incident with her mother, Paige Dishong.

Dishong claimed Scott got into a dispute with her 11-year-old child at a park and “repeatedly slammed her head off the metal portion of a slide,” according to the report.

According to the complaint, when Scott was arrested, she informed Dishong that she hoped the 11-year-old died.

According to the complaint, Dishong then ran at Scott. Dishong was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of official business.

Dishong will be arraigned on May 2.

Scott was charged with both assault and disorderly conduct.

Scott is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Police also have a video of the alleged assault on the 11-year-old girl.
