Johnny Leon Wilson, aged 54, was apprehended in Grand Prairie, Texas, on Monday, December 2, 2024, in relation to the murder of his ex-wife, Charine Wilson, which occurred in 2018. Following an extensive investigation and pursuit by law enforcement, Wilson, who had been on the run since fleeing the Houston area in 2019 after posting bail for charges connected to Charine Wilson’s death, was finally captured.

Charine Wilson, a 29-year-old woman, was last spotted on November 10, 2018, at 8950 Glencrest Street in Houston. She had gone to visit her ex-husband, Johnny Wilson. Charine’s son accompanied her to Johnny Wilson’s apartment. After a short visit, Johnny Wilson left the apartment on his own and drove Charine’s car to a fast-food restaurant. He dropped off the boy there and left. Two days later, on November 12, 2018, Charine Wilson was reported missing.

Johnny Wilson emerged as a prime suspect in the case, and investigators wasted no time in identifying him. On November 14, 2018, he faced murder charges in relation to his ex-wife’s untimely demise. Although authorities apprehended him on February 17, 2019, Wilson managed to secure his release by posting bail and subsequently disappeared, evading his court appearance. A gripping manhunt ensued as law enforcement agencies relentlessly pursued leads to track down Wilson and unravel his potential hiding places.

Johnny Wilson was finally apprehended on December 2, 2024, following an extensive investigation. The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force and the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force successfully located and arrested him in Grand Prairie. Currently, Wilson is being held at the Grand Prairie Police Department Jail and is awaiting extradition to Harris County. Once there, he will be facing charges in connection with the death of Charine Wilson.
