A Central Florida armed stalker suspect was apprehended on his way to watch his ex-girlfriend sleep.
A Volusia County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy came across 20-year-old Jalen Vallejos walking in a Deltona neighborhood, attempting to disguise his face.
Vallejos wore a ski mask and had gloves in his pocket, along with a knife and lock-picking gear.
According to local law officials, Vallejos revealed in an interview that he was on his way to his ex-girlfriend’s residence to observe her as she slept. He admitted that he was unsure of his goals for the night, but he was concerned that his actions would escalate.
Vallejos admitted that he had been visiting his ex’s house and observing her sleep for six to eight months. He admitted to being the suspect who had previously vandalized her residence.
Vallejos utilized his father’s truck to travel to Central Florida. Deputies discovered a backpack with duct tape, wire cutters, spray paint, and a sledgehammer, which Vallejos indicated he would use to break down a door or attack the victim’s father if questioned.
Vallejos faces charges of aggravated stalking, attempted armed burglary, loitering or prowling, possession of burglary tools, and criminal mischief.
He was sent to the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond for his criminal accusations.
