The case against a woman suspected of hitting and killing a bicyclist before being arrested at Bush Airport has been dismissed.
Nyla Gamboa was accused of hitting and killing Adrian Johnson in December on Airtex Drive near the North Freeway.
At the time, authorities claimed they discovered surveillance tape showing the biker pulling out in front of a dark-colored Cadillac.
“No brake lights before or after it, kind of sped up,” Asst. Chief Toby Hecker said.
The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office identified Gamboa as the suspected driver and charged him with failure to stop and offer aid resulting in death. Later, they arrested her at Bush Intercontinental Airport as she attempted to board an out-of-state flight.
According to court documents, the accusations were dismissed in January due to a lack of evidence.
In January, four men facing murder charges in Harris County learned that their cases had been withdrawn due to inadequate evidence.
