Chicago Shootings: 5 People Shot Overnight In Separate Incidents

The Chicago Police Department reports that five individuals sustained separate overnight gunshot wounds across the city.

The victims’ ages varied from 19 to 51.

Englewood shooting

A 44-year-old woman was shot outside in the 6700 block of South Throop Street in Englewood around 8:47 p.m.

The victim suffered a graze wound on the right thigh and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in excellent condition. She was unable to provide details about the occurrence.

Police in the neighborhood have not arrested anyone and are conducting an investigation.

Englewood shooting

A 19-year-old guy was in his car in the 2000 block of West Marquette Road at 10:37 p.m. when he got into a disagreement with a group of people outside.

An unknown gunman fired at him, striking him in the leg. The sufferer transported himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

No one is in custody, and cops in the region are conducting an investigation.

Washington Park shooting

Around 12:49 a.m., a 51-year-old man was shot while arguing with an unknown offender in the 6200 block of Martin Luther King Drive in Washington Park.

The gunman opened fire on the victim from inside a car. The gunman shot the man twice in the leg and transported him to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

No one is in custody, and cops in the region are conducting an investigation.

River North shooting

The Chicago Police Department said that a 39-year-old man was shot and badly injured in River North early Sunday morning in the 300 block of West Ontario Street.

Officers discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was sent to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Despite the victim’s inability to provide information about the shooting, preliminary findings indicate that a gunman in a car shot him.

The incident resulted in no arrests, and local police are currently conducting an investigation.

Morgan Park

A 32-year-old man was discovered with a gunshot wound to his right knee around 1:45 a.m. in the 11100 block of South Edmond Street in Morgan Park, following a complaint of an argument and a loud boom.

The victim was transported to Christ Hospital in excellent condition. According to authorities, he was reluctant and refused to disclose any facts about the incident.

Police in the neighborhood have not made any arrests and are currently conducting an investigation.
