Chinese operatives and spies from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are still being apprehended in the United States. Recently, two Chinese spies were caught in California, while several others were arrested in Guam, near a U.S. military base, coinciding with a significant live ballistic missile interception test.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, a 64-year-old man was arrested in California on multiple charges, including allegedly acting as a PRC agent while working as a campaign manager for a city council candidate elected in 2022. The individual reportedly had discussions with Chinese government officials about how the PRC could exert influence on local U.S. politicians, specifically regarding Taiwan. Additionally, the person was allegedly involved in operations aimed at countering “anti-China forces” in the United States and other conspiracies.

According to the findings of a multi-agency investigation, he was charged with conspiring with another PRC operative who was recently sentenced to prison for acting as an unregistered PRC agent and bribing an IRS agent. The investigation revealed that two PRC citizens residing in Los Angeles were specifically targeting members of the Shen Yun Performing Arts Center.

Guam Customs & Quarantine Agency reported that U.S. Customs officers have apprehended Chinese citizens who illegally entered in close proximity to a U.S. military installation.

During their investigation, officers discovered that the PRC operatives had been transported to Guam from Saipan, a U.S. territory in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), by a vessel.

On December 10th, two PRC women were apprehended and detained by the authorities. The following day, four PRC men were also apprehended. It is worth noting that all of them were transported by the same vessel that originated from Saipan.

In the Tanguisson Beach area, authorities apprehended a male from the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Additionally, near a U.S. military installation, three men from the PRC were also apprehended.

The U.S. Missile Defense Agency, in collaboration with U.S. Department of Defense partners, has successfully carried out a live intercept of a ballistic missile target. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first-ever Ballistic Missile Defense event conducted from Guam. The operation took place off the coast of Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.

According to Lt. Gen. Heath Collins, the Director of MDA, the operation was a success and it allowed them to further develop and confirm the joint tracking architecture and integrated air and missile defense capabilities for Guam.

Commander, Joint Task Force-Micronesia Rear Adm. Greg Huffman emphasized the significance of the flight test, stating that it marked a crucial milestone in the defense of Guam and the surrounding region. He further highlighted that the successful test demonstrated our capability to detect, track, and engage a target missile in flight, thus enhancing our preparedness to counter evolving threats from adversaries.

According to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), Guam plays a crucial role in homeland defense and is considered a strategic location for sustaining and maintaining the United States military presence. In addition, Guam serves as a deterrent to adversaries, enables quick response during crises, and contributes to the maintenance of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

Since 2022, the Guam Customs & Quarantine Agency has apprehended 152 individuals from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) who were found to be in violation of Guam entry laws. The agency has recognized the potential threat posed by the PRC and took action accordingly.

The multiagency border security task force targeting illegal entries includes various organizations, such as the Guam Police Department, Guam Fire Department, Guam Attorney General, Guam Port Authority, Guam Department of Labor, Guam Homeland Security, Guam Department of Agriculture Conservation Division, Marianas Fusion Center, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Customs and Department of Public Safety, US Coast Guard, US Navy, US Customs and Border Protection, US Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations, and Federal Bureau of Investigations.

The task force is urging the community to reach out to them if they have any information regarding illegal entry. They are also emphasizing the importance of remaining vigilant and keeping an eye out for individuals who are suspected of illegally entering the island or being involved in smuggling activities.

Members of Congress have expressed concerns about border security and immigration law violations in the CNMI for a long time. This includes the issue of illegal birth tourism on the islands, as reported by The Center Square.

According to a report by The Center Square, the Biden administration has witnessed the highest number of Chinese nationals illegally entering the United States in history. This alarming trend coincides with the recent arrests of several PRC operatives.
