Capital Murder in Dallas

This Article Includes

  • 1 Capital Murder in Dallas
  • 2 Arrest of Brandon Greer
  • 3 The investigation

On December 13, 2024, just before 10 p.m., Dallas Police were dispatched to the Pleasant Grove area to investigate a car driving in the front yard of a home in the 3800 block of Academy Dr.

Officers arrived to find two males inside the shot-up vehicle.

Dallas Fire Rescue responded and pronounced both males deceased on the scene.

At the time of the shooting, no suspect information was disclosed.

Arrest of Brandon Greer

More than three months later, Dallas police say the U.S. Marshals North Task Force apprehended Brandon Greer, 40.

Greer is being held at the Dallas County Jail under a $500,000 bail.

The investigation

According to Greer’s arrest affidavit, 40-year-old Jesus Rodriguez and Isidro Soriano, of unknown age, were “shot in the back of their heads and left to die.”

According to court filings, Rodriguez was scheduled to meet with Greer on December 13. According to a detective, the two exchanged several phone conversations and texts about the meeting.

The arrest document states that police believe Greer was in the backseat of Rodriguez’s vehicle at the time of the incident.

According to the affidavit, the vehicle was crammed with tools, clothing, and other goods, leaving only three seats available. According to the affidavit, the victims were sitting in the front two seats, leaving just the rear passenger seat free.

The affidavit also alleges that cell phone data was used to locate persons involved.

What’s next: The case will be presented before a grand jury to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial.

Because this is a capital murder case, the prosecution may elect to pursue the death sentence if the case proceeds to trial.
