Detectives in Washington, D.C., are investigating what led to a shooting in Northeast that killed a man Monday evening.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reports that they dispatched police to the 4500 block of Quarles Street shortly after 6:30 p.m. on January 13 to investigate a gunshot.
Officers discovered a man who was conscious and breathing but had suffered gunshot wounds.
Police claimed doctors rushed him to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.
Throughout the investigation, D.C. police identified the individual as 27-year-old Landen Mayo from Southeast.
