Indiana District Attorney Robert F. Manzi Jr. announced Thursday the arrest of a Derry man for transporting drugs.
Todd Stumpf, 59, was charged with trafficking two pounds of methamphetamines via Indiana County, according to a news release from Manzi.
He stated that early Thursday, members of the Indiana County Drug Task Force, Blairsville Borough Police Department, Indiana Borough Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police K9 Unit, and Indiana County Detective’s Bureau collaborated in an operation that resulted in the seizure of approximately 2 pounds of methamphetamine.
According to Manzi, the information acquired during that operation revealed that Stumpf was shipping a considerable amount of methamphetamine toward Westmoreland County.
“Due to the great work of law enforcement, the drugs are in the evidence room instead of on the streets,” he said.
Stumpf is accused of possessing a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, an unclassified crime, and other offenses.
A preliminary arraignment was heard before Blairsville Magisterial District Judge Robert Steele Bell Sr., who sentenced Stumpf to Indiana County Jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
On May 21, a preliminary hearing is planned before Bell.
