A jury found Deshawn Longmire, the man charged with the murder of Ronald Mouton, a respected Houston pastor, in June 2022, guilty of first-degree murder.
The court will now proceed to the sentencing phase for Longmire.

On June 24, 2022, Houston police responded to a crash on the southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway around 6400 Gulf Freeway and Gould Street.
Witnesses informed police that Mouton, 58, was driving a white automobile when he was shot by a driver in a black sedan during an apparent road rage incident.
According to authorities, Mouton sustained a gunshot wound to his chest, crashed, and died. Mouton was the pastor of East Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for 32 years.
Surveillance video from Pusch and Nguyen Injury Lawyers shows Pastor Mouton’s automobile swerving toward the roadside just before he crashed.
Then, another camera from a neighboring petrol station filmed the moment his car collided and looked to spin to a stop.
Investigators named Longmire as a suspect. According to a charging statement in the case, Longmire was driving on Gulf Freeway Service Road near Gould Street in June 2022 with the Uber app on when he shot out of his vehicle and struck Mouton in the chest.

“I want to apologize and I know there nothing I can do to change the situation and if I could I would. I made a mistake and I hurt a lot of people,” Longmire said on the stand.
“Promise to find some kind of way to let the family know I’m sorry. Make peace with them,” he added.
“I can’t imagine. Truly sorry. I feel so bad that this happened. I hate that it happened. I really do,” said Chanel Hogan-Jones, Longmire’s mother.
Who is Deshawn Longmire?
Longmire was an Uber driver from 2018 to 2019.
He was on house confinement while on bond.
Since Mouton’s murder, he has completed his associate’s degree and attends Lakewood Church.
