People who perpetrate such acts may not face a harsh enough punishment.

Another Name to the Animal Abuse Registry

We can add another name to the list of registered animal abusers in Upstate New York after a horrifying video showed a guy in Albany, New York, setting fire to a pitbull puppy a few weeks ago.

According to Albany Police, Christopher Maxwell, 34, of the Bronx, is facing animal cruelty charges after a dead dog was discovered inside a box at Fourth Avenue and Franklin Street in Albany on February 24.

According to the authorities, Maxwell starved the female pit bull puppy for days before bringing it to a parking lot in Albany, where Ring cameras captured the heinous event in the early morning hours of February 23.

According to the police report, “he took the dog, still in the crate, to a parking lot in the area of Fourth Avenue and Franklin Street, poured lighter fluid over the crate and the dog, and set it on fire.”

Local News Station Has the Disturbing Video

Newschannel 13 aired clips of the frightening video obtained by a nearby Ring camera.

Maxwell is seen hauling a covered container across a parking lot across from the Elijah Missionary Church on Fourth Street.

A few moments later, you notice him nonchalantly walking away from the flaming container with the female pitbull trapped inside.

Maxwell has been charged with one case of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, five counts of arson, and four counts of criminal mischief.
