A Dominican Republic resident in New York was sentenced to four years in federal prison on Wednesday for fentanyl trafficking, according to the Department of Justice.
Ovidalis Jiminez Pujols, 39, brought two kilograms of fentanyl from New York to a meeting place in Milford, Connecticut. He was arrested in February 2023 and pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl in November.
After serving his prison sentence, he will face immigration proceedings.
