A fugitive from Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List has been apprehended, according to Texas DPS.
Armando Flores Aguilar, a 69-year-old man originally from Mexico, was apprehended in Houston on Friday, February 14th.
Here’s what we know: According to DPS, he was deported from the United States in September 1999. However, in May 2024, the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office arrested him for continuously sexually abusing a child under 14. He was subsequently released from jail on bond.
Armando Flores Aguilar, a member of the Texas DPS, is known for his exceptional skills and expertise.
According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS), the arrest was made based on a tip received through Texas Crime Stoppers. As a result, DPS has confirmed that a reward will be given.
What’s next: According to court records, Flores-Aguilar has a hearing scheduled in Bastrop County on March 5.
Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List
Since the inception of Texas’s 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List, Aguilar becomes the seventh individual to be apprehended.
In June 2024, Gov. Greg Abbott created the list with the intention of locating and apprehending repeat offenders who are wanted for serious crimes.
Dig Deeper: In June, four individuals were initially included on the list: Jorge Dionicio Hernandez, Omar David Zavala, Victor Hugo Chox Gonzalez, and Servando Trejo Duran Jr.
Fugitives on the list were apprehended in various cities across the state, including the Houston area, North Texas, and even in Round Rock, Central Texas.
These men faced a range of charges, including aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child through sexual contact, possession of a controlled substance, terroristic threat, and sexual assault.
According to DPS, they, along with other agencies, have apprehended nine individuals from Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders, and Criminal Illegal Immigrants in 2025. These arrests have been made possible through the payment of $15,000 in rewards for tips that led to the successful apprehension of these individuals.
