A bull shark attack in the waters of Florida panhandle left a 15-year-old girl from Alabama severely injured. Currently, she has been shifted to another hospital with the hope of receiving prosthetics.

Coastal officials suspect that the women were attacked by the same bull shark, given that the incidents occurred only four miles apart.

Ann Blair Gribbin has been providing daily updates on her daughter Lulu’s condition since the attack.

Gribbons reported that Lulu was moved to a different hospital on June 13, six days following the attack. The transportation was carried out through AirMed Medical Transport Jet from Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital situated in Pensacola to an undisclosed hospital.

After consulting with a specialist who is renowned for working with multi-extremity amputees, Gribbons made the decision to relocate Lulu. The hope is to have her daughter fitted for prosthetics that will enhance her mobility and quality of life.

Gribbons stated that the decision to move Lulu’s remaining surgeries and rehabilitation to a different hospital was not an easy one. She further added that they prayed for guidance to make the best decision for Lulu’s care. According to Gribbons, they strongly believe that this move will provide Lulu with the best chance to live as normal a life as possible with two prosthetics. She stressed that this is the optimal medical option for Lulu and a significant step towards her path to recovery.

On Sunday, the doctors performed another surgery on the teenager. They carefully cleaned up the wounds and removed any bacteria present in them. Additionally, the surgeons initiated the process of closing the amputations.

During the update, Gribbons shared the touching farewell that Lulu received from the hospital staff at Sacred Heart.

As we pushed her on a stretcher, we left her hospital room and entered the hallway of the PICU. Through the double doors, the halls stretched for what felt like forever, and on either side, we were greeted by the doctors and nurses who had played a vital role in saving Lulu’s life. Some had been with her since the beginning, while others had come from different parts of the hospital. The atmosphere was electric, with cheers, music, and even silly string being sprayed. In fact, they even gave Lulu some silly string to join in the fun. It was a truly incredible farewell for our little girl.

Just as Lulu was about to leave Sacred Heart, she received a delightful surprise in the form of a furry, four-legged visitor.

On Wednesday, the child support therapist brought in a delightful surprise – an emotional support dog named Sherlock. This furry companion, a golden doodle with a luscious golden coat, made his way to Lulu’s bed and snuggled up with her. Although there was some slight curly hair on the inside of his ears, Sherlock was not quite the typical doodle. Nonetheless, his presence brought comfort and joy to Lulu and those around her.

According to Gribbons, Lulu and Ellie, who happen to be dog enthusiasts, snuggled with Sherlock on the hospital bed before departing for the transport jet.
